Pokémon VGC 2016 Doswell Regional

On February 14, 2016, 193 players traveled to compete at the first GS Cup VGC 2016 Regional in Doswell, Virginia! Players battled through 8 Swiss Rounds where the top 8 players advanced to a single-elimination bracket to determine the winner.

In the end, Paul Chua was able to win this Regional using the common "Big 6" Xerneas/Groudon team that features 2 powerful Mega Evolutions, Kangaskhan and Salamence, rounded out with Smeargle and Talonflame to support this team's powerful attackers. As shown below, this powerful team was able to claim 6 of the 8 finishes in Top Cut, proving this is a team for players to watch out for.
