The VGC 2022 season comes to Southeast Asia as 38 players competed at the first-ever offline event, the Thailand Nationals on May 29, 2022 in Bangkok Thailand. Capped at 100 entrants, they compete in 7 Swiss Rounds consisting best of one matches where the top 8 players advanced to single-elimination best of three matches. The winner would earn a Day 2 invite and travel award to the 2022 World Championships while the finalist and top 4 players earned Day 1 invites.
The Pokémon Company (TPC) streamed the Finals match with Penguin Hut and Overboot commentating the match.
