The first VGC 2023 Regional in Taiwan took place as 86 players traveled to compete at the Taipei Regionals on October 1, 2022. Players battled through 6 Swiss Rounds where the top 16 players advanced to a single-elimination bracket. Both finalists at this event earned a Day 2 invite to the upcoming 2023 Taiwan Nationals. This is the only official tournament played using the Series 13 ruleset, a format that allowed unlimited use of every Pokémon in the game, including the previously unusable Mythical Pokémon.
